We focus on calm, thoughtful gaming experiences, editorial curation and restoring joy through play—primarily within the world of Nintendo Switch games.
We are not here to tell you what is objectively good. We are here to share findings, perspectives and recommendations with honesty.
Ultimately, whether a game is worth your time, has replay value or investment-worthy is something only you, the reader, can decide.

Our Beginning
The Soft Reset was first conceived on 10 January 2025 and quietly launched on 20 June 2026 in Osaka, Japan. Like many good games, it spent longer in development than expected. What began as a simple idea gradually evolved into a publication dedicated to thoughtful gaming, meaningful play and helping people make better use of their limited time and attention. The rest of the story, is still being written.
Behind The Soft Reset
The Soft Reset is independently created and self-funded by a single curator who moves between discovering new experiences, exploring the world and disappearing into long, quiet periods of rest—learning, thinking or doing absolutely nothing between play, depending on what matters more in the moment: visuals, mood, story or reward, across both virtual worlds and the real one. An enthusiast with a deep love for the art of gaming and the industry that surrounds it, our founder has built a modest collection of over 100 physical Nintendo Switch game cartridges, forming the foundation of many of our reviews, guides and editorial features. Every title in our library has helped shape our understanding of what makes a game worth playing, revisiting and recommending.
